Not sure what has happened to this cafe but compared to what I have experienced here before during many visits it has really gone downhill. Very restricted menu on offer. Food quality and portions poor particularly the burnt baked potato and lack of filling. Soft drinks warm as had run out of ice.

Stopped in to have a look at the furniture and found this delightful cafe. Decor was instagrammable, blossom tree in the centre. Great range of cakes, waitress was helpful and friendly. Had a pot of tea, cappuccino, carrot cake and a fruit scone with butter and jam, cost £12.10. Scone was a good size, if I was really picky I would say the jam portion let it down. The cafe screams upmarket but cheap portioned jam doesn't. Carrot cake was a decent size, was tasty but no cream cheese frosting. Cappuccino was good as was the tea. Would definitely return.

Well what can I say, have been coming to Cafe Belgica since it opened and have always enjoyed the warm friendly atmosphere, that was up until the last few weeks. Firstly the man at the entrance is very rude and obnoxious, takes you to table which he cleared with his hand, before even sit down asking about drinks. So placed our order and watched this man repeatedly wipe tables with his hand and then sit customers straight down, no cloth or antibac spray. Reached over in front of my mum to remove her empty sugar sachets from the table, which should have been left until we had finished. He tapped a young lad on the shoulder who was putting cutlery away and told him to shut up he was making to much noise, disgraceful speaking to staff like that . The poor staff were worked of their feet , Kerry Justin and the rest of staff are lovely and so friendly and helpful and this has all been taken away from them. The menu has shrunk so much there is very limited choice it's just a standard cafe now with flower pots sat on tables with cutlery.(Like a chip shop cafe) Somewhere that used to have a little bit class has now went downhill. The cakes and desserts were lovely and what a lot of people were looking for. Our food, just under an hour's wait not acceptable. This is not down to the staff it's down to the changes this man has made. Im very disappointed with the cafe and hope management will take this on board. Once again I can not fault the staff, Kerry, Justin, Pauline and the girls.

Has management changed? I have been here before a few times, and left a rave review on my first visit. Usual experience is a lovely atmosphere, really happy, friendly capable staff, and good food. This experience was completely different, the relaxed atmosphere has gone, there is an extremely over efficient gentlemen at the door showing you to your table, completely taking away the relaxed friendly atmosphere, but not really enhancing the experience in any way, in my opinion the cafe doesn't need a maitre de, a friendly warm welcome is all you expect. Waited a long time for food, which was no problem, when it came (a simple toastie) it was barely toasted, soggy underneath, and bursting with too much pickle and had lost all of the cheese. Couple next to me had to eventually go and ask for menus after saying quietly to each other first impressions not good, couple to the other side waited so long for theirs that the lady came and apologised, and I could see when the food came they weren't enjoying it. Also, we were brought someone else's food, it then went to another table, and then one of those dishes went back to the kitchen. Bring back the cheery atmosphere, great food, and lovely cake selection, and lose the pretentiousness of presenting it as luxury dining, it isn't, its a great wee cafe in lovely surroundings with some great girls working behind the coffee counter, and I hope this was a one off.

The staff were very good and helpful, however the food was expensive for what it was.
